2017 AUTO ROUNDUP INFORMATION

COMING SOON

2016

The Texas Auto Roundup is an annual event that is held at the famous Texas Motor Speedway where more than fifty journalist members of the Texas Auto Writers Association evaluate the latest cars on the market while interacting with automotive industry representatives. For the event, TAWA secures the TMS infield road course and the surrounding grounds for a newly expanded two-day evaluation of manufacturer provided vehicles.

The event is open to all members of the Texas Auto Writers Association who can use the online registration system to reserve their place at the event.

THE BASICS

TAWA’s annual Auto Roundup is returning this spring once again to Texas Motor Speedway and, for the first time ever, will expand to two days of driving.

The event will be held May 1-3, 2016. Just as in previous years, members will arrive for a dinner reception Sunday evening. But in addition to our traditional Monday morning and afternoon driving sessions, we’re adding a Tuesday morning session to offer our journalists additional time to evaluate the large number of vehicles that are on hand at this growing event.

The nearby Marriott at Champions Circle will once again be our host hotel venue.

Also new this year: There will be NO EMBARGO for the awards announcement. We encourage social media coverage such as live tweeting and Periscoping as soon as the announcements are made. News outlets that want to report the results are encouraged to attend and report from the awards presentation the afternoon of Tuesday, May 3.

TIMELINE OF EVENTS

Electronic input will be used for all voting and comments while at the track.

We'll have both morning and afternoon drive sessions on Monday where you can evaluate vehicles on the infield track and on public streets.

Morning Drive

We're expanding the event with a morning driving session on Tuesday to give you more time to experience all the vehicles on hand at this event.

Voting will continue on Tuesday morning as you finish evaluating all the cars.
